27 November: Transforming the food system
27 november 2019 @ 08:45 - 11:00 CET
ESG risks and opportunities in livestock, aquaculture and sustainable proteins
Swesif and FAIRR are delighted to invite you to an event on the material ESG risks in the food production value chain.
Protein producers play a key role in the global food system. Poorly-managed risks in this subsector can cascade through the value chain, impacting the climate, deforestation and food safety performance of FMCG companies.
This event will cover how global protein producers are performing on a range ESG issues, from GHG emissions to antibiotic use, whether aquaculture is a sustainable solution, and opportunities to be found in alternative protein products.
The insights will draw from FAIRR’s most recent work in this area:
- Coller FAIRR Protein Producer Index 2019. The second edition of FAIRR’s comprehensive assessment of 60 global animal protein companies on critical ESG issues.
- Shallow returns? ESG issues in aquaculture. Overview of 10 key ESG issues in the aquaculture industry and emerging solutions to tackle these challenges.
- Appetite for disruption: how leading food companies are responding to the alternative protein boom. Details how prepared 25 global food companies are when it comes to leveraging consumer trends and technology towards building a low-carbon protein portfolio.
