Research Seminar: Board Gender Diversity and Climate Strategy – Implications for Investors

Insights from Dr Vu Trinh, Associate Professor in Finance
Welcome to a research seminar exploring board gender diversity and its role in addressing climate change and sustainability. While research has much to say about diversity and corporate performance, a less explored avenue is the connection to climate change. Recent studies, however, show that there is an association with board gender diversity and firm-level climate change exposure as well as climate disclosure.
The presentation will synthesise key findings from recent research, including Dr. Vu Trinh’s own work. The seminar will provide concise, actionable insights for investors and other market participants working with sustainable finance.
The presentation will conclude with a Q&A session, moderated by Dr. Emma Sjöström, AP7.
Speaker of the day:
Dr. Vu Trinh is an Associate Professor in Finance at Newcastle University Business School. His research focuses on corporate governance and sustainable finance, particularly how board composition and leadership influence firms’ resilience and management of climate-related risks.
Moderator:
