How investors can address forced labour risks in food supply chains

4 oktober 2018 @ 16:00 - 17:30 CEST

Swesif and KnowTheChain invite investors to learn about how they can address forced labour risks in the supply chains of portfolio companies, with a focus on the food and beverage industry.

Investors will learn about the results of KnowTheChain’s second benchmark which assesses the efforts of 38 global companies to address forced labour risks across commodities and supply chains tiers, for example by preventing the exploitation of migration workers through recruitment agencies, by empowering vulnerable workers to exercise their rights, and by providing remedy to impacted workers. Investors will also learn about tools for engagement, and hear an investor perspective on engaging companies on the topic, and learn about an engagement initiative on labour rights in food supply chains.

Axfood will share progress and challenges of moving from policies to practice in addressing forced labour risks in supply chains.

The session will be followed by Q&A and networking.

At the seminar you will meet:

  • Charlotta Dawidowski Sydstrand, ESG Manager, AP7
  • Kristina Areskog Bjurling, Sustainability Manager Goods, Axfood
  • Felicitas Weber, KnowTheChain Project Lead, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre

The seminar will be held in English, and moderated by Sara Nordbrand, Head of Sustainability and Corporate Engagement, The Church of Sweden.
