As the United Nations calls for accelerated action to deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals, the young generation around the world is mobilizing to voice their concerns and demands for a more sustainable future. In 2020 the Convention of the Rights of the Child finally gained the same legal status as national Swedish law. This reinforces the expectations and opportunities for businesses to demonstrate their commitment to putting children’s rights in focus.

More than ever, investors are playing an important role to shape a better and more sustainable world for children. UNICEF and Sustainalytics have together developed the Investor Guidance on Integrating Children’s Rights into Investment Decision Making. The guidance is created as a tool for investors and ESG providers who want to explore how companies and investors can mitigate risks and identify opportunities that advance children’s rights while generating societal and financial benefits.

A warm welcome to hear our speakers Lulu Li, UNICEF Sweden and Tytti Kaasinen, Sustainalytics, discuss the context and the investor guidance on children’s rights. Anna Augustson, Telia Sweden and an investor speaker (tbc) will share examples of current corporate and investor actions on the topic.
