Seminar: Dark and light green – A study of European fund holdings
22 januari 2025 @ 12:00 - 13:30 CET
Welcome to a seminar with Mark Sanctuary, exploring the rise of Green Investment Funds (GIFs) and their role in promoting sustainable development, especially within the EU. As GIFs gain momentum, so too does the importance of understanding their actual impact.
In this session, Sanctuary will present a comparative study examining the differences between European GIFs and conventional investment funds. By analysing and visualising data, the study provides a fresh look at whether GIFs live up to their sustainability claims and contribute meaningfully to a sustainable economy.

Sanctuary is Associate Professor of Corporate Finance at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). He is also the Vice Director of Sweden’s Sustainable Finance Lab, and a Senior Researcher at IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute. In his research, he develops theory to study the interplay between the environment, policy, and companies. Methodologically, Mark applies microeconomic methods to test competing hypotheses. He is particularly interested in applying his expertise to support our transition to a more sustainable path.
We look forward to see you!
