Lunch seminar: PFAS – The Hidden Risk

6/10 @ 12:00 - 13:30

From batteries to AI, heat pumps and data centers

Can we talk about green technologies and transition when the very same technologies are dependent on PFAS?

PFAS are often discussed in terms of their impact on human health and the environment. But as regulatory scrutiny increases, PFAS are also becoming an important financial consideration for companies and investors – not least due to their widespread use in technologies that are central to the green and digital transition.

PFAS are currently used in areas such as batteries, semiconductors, AI infrastructure, data centres, solar panels and heat pumps. As the EU moves towards stricter regulation, this raises important questions for investors. Which sectors and companies are most exposed? How could future regulation affect business models, value chains and valuations? And are there viable alternatives to PFAS in the technologies expected to drive the transition?

Swesif invites you to a lunch seminar exploring PFAS from an investor perspective. Patrik Witkowsky from ChemSec will introduce the PFAS issue, discuss the evolving regulatory landscape and highlight exposures across key technologies and sectors. Together with Caroline Sundin from Swedbank Robur, we will then explore how investors can identify, assess and manage PFAS-related risks – as well as potential opportunities linked to the transition towards PFAS-free alternatives.

The seminar will be moderated by Victoria Lidén, Board Member of Swesif.

A light lunch will be served.
