SUMMARY:Webinar: Do impact investments need to compromise returns?
DESCRIPTION:On September 4\, 2025\, Swesif warmly invites you to a webinar on Impact Investing. \nSchroders will present a new study in collaboration with Oxford University (Saïd Business School)\, an empirical analysis that challenges the common perception that genuine impact investments must come at the expense of returns. \nThe Church of Sweden\, will share their perspective on impact investing. With a strong ethical and sustainability-driven mandate\, their ambition is to contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. They view investments as a tool for positive societal change\, while also striving for long-term financial returns. Their approach is grounded in the belief that capital can make a difference\, both through what is invested in and how they act as owners. \nThe webinar will be moderated by Emma Sjöström\, AP7 and board member of Swesif. \nOur speakers:\nCatherine Macaulay\nCo-Head of Impact Management\, Schroders \nCatherine is co-Head of Impact Management and is responsible for developing and implementing our impact management and measurement framework\, including product development\, portfolio impact management\, impact strategy and impact reporting. She co-chairs Schroders’s Impact Assessment Group (IAG) and is a member of the Big Exchange’s Impact Committee. \nLinda Sundberg\nHead of Responsible Investment\, Church of Sweden \nLinda is responsible for ensuring that the Church of Sweden’s asset management reflects the church’s core values\, combining financial returns with long-term impact. Her work focuses particularly on climate and human rights\, where she sees capital as a tool for positive societal change. She brings extensive experience from the Ministry of Finance\, the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority\, EY\, and SEB\, linking financial governance with social responsibility. \nOur moderator:\nEmma Sjöström\nHead of Sustainability Communication\, AP7 \nEmma is in charge of the written sustainability communication at AP7\, including thematic reports and other publications. She has a background as co-director of the Sustainable Finance Initiative at Misum\, Stockholm School of Economics\, where her research focused on ESG investment and active ownership from a management perspective. She holds a PhD on shareholder influence in corporate responsibility and has been a visiting fellow at the University of Hong Kong. \nA link to the webinar will be sent to all registered participants the day before. \nWelcome!
